Windham: Recent Snow Makes It Nice

Ski Watch Reporter Terry skied at Windham in the Catskills of New York on Sunday, February 21. Here's what Terry had to say about his ski day, in his own words:
Good day at Windham (for the last day of Presidents week). Started off cloudy and cold (below freezing) some wind (10-15 mph gusts) especially at the top but around 1:00 p.m. the sun came out and we may have gotten above freezing.
All the trails and lifts (except F lift) were open today. No snowmaking today (they made some last night and they had 12" or so on Tuesday that they have been spreading around). As I said this was a big week for the hill, talked to some of the sports staff and they all agreed that this was true, only reason I mention this is there were more bare or icy spots than I would have expected (at the top of the quad and other high traffic areas), maybe they had enough of grooming/covering these spots but I was just surprised to see this.
To start the day I was off the D lift. White Way and What's Next (beginner), machine made snow, side to side some piles, solid base but minimal ice.
Over to the Wonderama lift and the same named trail (intermediate), flat light early but later when the sun came out it was fantastic. Cut over to the G lift to do the Wanderer (beginner) nice until you made the turn west (wind in your face, light cover, some run off icy spots). Also did some runs down Why Not (advanced) some ice at the top at the upper head walls but further down good cover, fast just some work to get there. In the afternoon went back to the other side of the mountain and skied off the Whirlwind Quad.
Upper Whistler (high traffic), looking down moguls field on the left and some icy base and machine made snow piles on the right, down further (to lower Whistler or Wolverine) was in good shape (these are both intermediates). Did some runs down Upper Wolverine (steep, better cover than the G lift trails). Finished off the day on Wonderama in the sun.
Sunny Monday and early Tuesday, but the rest of the week looks like a storm hitting late Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and continued snow showers into the weekend. This should dump more snow on the Catskills which will make the latter part of February and early March prime late winter early spring skiing. Hoping to participate.
A few non ski things. On March 6th Windham is trying to set the Guinness record for longest torchlight parade, you can sign up on their website.
Also Kurt Zimmer has moved from Windham to Tahoe, the new marketing contact is Pat Del Rosario.
