Ski Watch Reporter Brendan skied at Stratton in Vermont on Sunday, January 22. Here's what Brendan is had to say about his ski day, in his own words:

5 to 27F. Sunny and clear.
Overcast by the end of the day.

I started the day from the Sun Bowl lot. It looked warm and sunny from the heated SUV, but when I hit the wash button on the ride up the washer fluid froze to the windshield. It warmed up to 5 degrees by the time we arrived.

The cats were working hard pushing snow for the future super pipe below the Sunrise Express 6 lift.

The terrain parks were nicely groomed and flowed well, but make sure you go online. Here's the link: http://ses.stratton.com/start.aspx

Watch the video and take the quick 5 question test for an SES park pass or no rail grinding for you. You can take the test in the lodge but sometimes there's a line for the lone computer.

The skies were sunny and despite the early cold, it warmed up to about
30 degrees. The glades are still rough with the lack of snow but I did brave Eclipse, Moonbeam, and Cabin Fever with only a thin scratch or two to the board.

Black Bear and Upper Standard were fun but most trails were iced up by the end of the day. Overall 83 trails, 7 lifts, great day, great weather, with good conditions.
