Ski Watch Update – 3/9/16

With unseasonably hot temps this week, we may be seeing the last of the season for many ski areas across the region. Still, snow remains in them there hills, and the spring ski season is always loads of fun with happy sliders, unique outfits, and crazy events. So go out and enjoy it before it all melts away!

Beach Party Madness at Mohawk Mountain

Wade into the melt down at Mohawk as they celebrate the end of the season. Don your best beachwear, and enjoy games, prizes, a parade, barbecue on the deck and more. Check out for all the details.

The Acrobag is bat at Mount Southington, CT

Come practice your high flying skills as you launch into the air and land in the Acrobag airbag. Lift ticket or season pass is required, plus the purchase of a jump ticket. Learn more at

Ski-A-Thon for Make a Wish Foundation at Ski Sundown, CT

This Sunday, Sundown hosts a “Kids for Wish Kids” Ski a thon. The minimum donation to participate is $10 (lift ticket or season pass also required.) The skier or boarder in each age group that skis the most runs will win a prize. There will also be a teacup auction. All proceeds go to the Make a Wish Foundation. Get all the details at

Relay for Life Race at Ski Butternut, MA

Ski Butternut is partnering with a local Relay for Life Team to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Race will take place this Saturday, March 12th. There will be a race course set up for general public to run through as a relay. The minimum donation to participate in the race will be $25. There will be a DJ, and games will be set up on the deck of the Upper Lodge all day long. For more information, visit
